stuck in a routine cycle

i'm on leave for 3 days
away from work
having a good rest and
clearing my mind from things
i guess that's all i have
certainly hope that's all i need though
doing my best to live by each day with a smile
that would have been wad my uncle would have wanted for me

it's 6am in the morning
a start to a brand new morning
as the sun is slowly waking up
i'm sitting in front of my computer
taking things lightly
finally some time alone

slept every early yesterday
needed a good rest.. badly
especially after the route march
first ever in the 29 years
my battalion decided to host a route march
to build family spirit they say
i'm just happy we had fun singing along the way
a familiar feeling i thought was long lost after bmt

weekends always come and go in a blink of an eye
even back when i was in bmt and
now the same after i got posted out

this week was my first official guard duty experience
it wasn't a really fantastic experience
considering the amount of land i had to cover on foot
not to mention that i'm doing it in the wee hours of the day
still it was a memorable experience
and it also means i'm one less guard duty away from ord haha
guess i'm abit too early for this but still... who cares?!

i couldn't help but went into deep thoughts...
many many times this week
this is the first time i'm having some troubles communicating with pple at work
i can't seem to get my upper study to go into a more friendly state
other then his usual working mood when he explains something impt to me
i'm a person that hates to be left aside alone when there are things to be done
and thats what is happening to me
all i can do is to stand aside in deep thoughts
and watch my upper study go into his working mood
running around the office, getting things done...
"dun worry i'll do it.. you sit down relax first" he'll say
i really hope i'll find a way out soon

growing up really is part and parcel of our lives...

i just came back from a secondary class gathering
though only 6 out of the 40 turned up
we managed to update one another about our current doings
and fill in as much information as we can about others

secondary school wad i recall
was about calling each other nicknames
being lame and the 'hero' in class
and showing off whatever we have

it was really lots of fun giving one another nicknames
Audrey as 'or qui' (as in tortoise) not only because of her name
but more so cause she was always a little slower in reaction
KitMun as 'plasma tv' for her still flat as ever face
Alexius as 'xiao bai' after his chinese surname
ChorPeng always showed off his muscles on his hands
WeiZun was always disturbed for his pronunciation
zero as 'jilo' and milk as 'mulk'
and the list goes on
no one was left out
but i guess everyone has grown up...

most of the guys have served their national service
well some of them like me are in the midst of serving it
ChorPeng became your friendly neighbourhood policemen
i guess he can put those muscles to good use
CheeWen as the guy i noe from secondary was always playful yet fun to be with
and now he's on his way training to become an Officer in the army
i just can't imagine me saluting him when i see him next time
Jackson became a commando
that came as a surprise too initially

it was also comforting to hear that
most of those who gave up on their studies initially
are back to mainstream education
WeiZun moved on from ITE to getting his Diploma now
LiYun who quit school is pursuing her Diploma too
Clarissa just graduated with a Diploma and is working in a restaurant now

and a handful started their own family and got married
like Margaret who became a mother of a cute 2 year old

it's been fun catching up with all of them
i never tot sitting down again with one another
at another place in another time could be so fulfilling

as we took a step back and looked into our past
we found much laughter and joy
many were memories we'll always keep close to us
while the not so great times were all left behind
having the common understanding that whatever we did in the past
especially the not so good stuff were unintentional
and we were just too young at that time

growing up...
i'm beginning to love this process

i was smiling as i climbed the stairs up back to my room

its been a long and fulfilling day
things i had set out to do today:
1. iron formation badge onto smart 4
2. meet up with the kestralians
3. level 38 in dragonica
4. go chevron buy the new safac shirt and more admin shirts
5. buy the latest comics
6. have dinner with mom
at least i managed to clear half of the stuff i had planned
honestly i never tot i would have done so much in a day
so i guess the rest are brought forward to tmr den

oh and everyone seem to be too busy for me today
or should i say they're busy when i'm looking for them
and i've got something to do when they eventually call me back

first was fushun
ask me to hold the phone and the next thing i noe
it went off... dead... wtf!!!
and it happened too with marx
looked for me on msn, asked if i was busy
but the next thing i noe he went to bathe... dotz...
guess i can only trust my comics and mp3 to keep me company
as least they are always loyal... haha
maybe i should forgive marx
at least he made me laugh today
